Paulo Branco receives Leonardo da Vinci World Arts Award in Japan

The 36th World Cultural Council Awards ceremony was held a few hours ago in Tokyo at Tsukuba University, where Paulo Branco received the Leonardo da Vinci World Award of Arts, with which he was honoured.

Describing the award as «(…) an acknowledgment to those who lift our existence to a higher level by the beauty or inspiration of their creative talent.», the organization states that the award of this prize to the Portuguese producer «(...) is given for Mr. Branco's engagement with new views on cinematographic expressions and his dedicated commitment to cultivating intensive communication and activity among the different fields of culture, such as literature, fine arts and music.»


At the conference he gave, Paulo Branco spoke about how film production can be a creative process.
