Alfama Films is pleased to announce that Tiago Guedes’ new film, AQUÍ, will take part in the Official Competition of the 71st edition of the Valladolid International Film Festival (SEMINCI), which will take place from 23 to 31 October 2026.
SEMINCI has just announced that AQUÍ, Tiago Guedes’ adaptation of Nobel Prize in Literature laureate J. M. Coetzee’s ‘Jesus Trilogy’, has been selected for the Official Competition, where it will compete for the Golden Spike.
Following its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, in the Cannes Première section, where it was greeted with a prolonged standing ovation in the iconic, sold-out Debussy Theatre, AQUÍ now continues its journey on the festival circuit, this time at one of Spain’s most prestigious film festivals.
Shot in Spain and Portugal, the film features an extraordinary international cast: Manolo Solo, in what would become his final film, Patricia López Arnaiz, Álex Peláez, Hugo Encuentra, Daniel Elías, Lambert Wilson, Sergi López, Camille Decourtye, with special appearances by Ángela Molina, Itsaso Arana, Fernando Trueba and Albano Jerónimo.
