Since 1980, German institutions send adolescents in southern Portugal under various experimental projects of social rehabilitation.
It is in this context that Katrin comes to Alentejo. She is cut off her environment, a state of isolation intensified by the harsh landscape and the emptiness of a deserted area socially. Katrin, Julia and Pedro form an enclave in a no-man's land - a desert physically and mentally.
