Alfama Films is proud to announce that awaited production directed by Robert Schwentke (Flight Plan, Red, Divergent Series) started shooting today. Max Hubacher, Frederick Lau (Victoria, The Wave), Milan Peschel and Alexander Fehling (Labyrinth of Lies, Homeland) are part of the main cast.

Based on real events, THE CAPTAIN tells the story of private Willi Herald, who deserted the army just before the end of World War II. On his run he finds the uniform of a captain. In his disguise he assembles a flock of wandering soldiers and ruthlessly tests the limits of his newly gained power.

The film is a co-production between Filmgalerie 451 (Germany), Alfama Films (France), Opus Film (Poland).

Alfama Films Paris will handle the world sales for THE CAPTAIN. Weltkino Filmverleih will distribute the film in Germany.
